Neighbourhood Area Consultation
The area covered by the NP is formally set down.
Neighbourhood Plan Launch
The NP process is begun by appointing a Parish Council sub-committee consisting of councillors and members of the community. They work together to discover the wishes of the village and convert those into a Plan for the future.
Vision and Objectives
The Vision will be a brief statement on what the village hopes Bracebridge Heath will be like in 2035. This will be compiled from the analysis of the responses we get from you through the Plan Questionnaire and the public consultations and events we hold. From this, the Objectives (the main areas the Plan will deal with) can be decided. These Objectives will later lead to Policies which will be the practical means of realising the Vision.
Draft Plan prepared
Taking into account the Vision, Objectives and any other feedback and relevant information, the NP committee and outside, expert consultants will put together a draft Neighbourhood Plan based around a set of Policies.
Consultation on Draft Plan
Villagers will be asked to comment on the Draft Plan, as will the Parish Council.
Amendments to Draft Plan
The Draft will be edited to reflect the feedback from the consultation.
Submission of the Plan
The Plan will be submitted to the District Council. From this point the progress of the Plan is in the hands of the District Council.
District Council Consultation
The District Council (NKDC) will carry out its own consultation. Villagers who are opposed to any aspects of the Plan can voice objections to NKDC.
Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The Plan is formally examined by a government inspector.
Amendments to Plan
Changes recommended by the inspector’s report must be written into the Plan.
All villagers on the electoral register will be invited to vote whether to accept the Plan in a formal Referendum organised by the District Council.
The Plan now becomes a legal document, and any planning decision concerning the Parish must show reference to its policies. The Plan can be reviewed at intervals.
